Basic Life Support (BLS)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course is for healthcare professionals such as who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings, Initial Provider Course requires approximately 4.5 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing. Renewal Course requires approximately 4 hours, including skills practice and skills testing. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion E-Card is valid for two years. In the classroom, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units. Initial Provider Course requires approximately 10-12 hours to complete, including skills practice and skills testing. Renewal Course requires approximately 5-6 hours, including skills practice and skills testing. Upon successful course completion, including demonstration of skills competency in all learning stations and passing the CPR and AED skills test, bag-mask ventilation skills test, a Mega code test and a written test, students receive an ACLS course completion E-Card, valid for two years.

Pediatric Advance Cardiac Life Support (PALS)
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, physician assistants, nurse practioners, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements. Course uses learning stations for practice of essential skills simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active participation. Hands-on class format reinforces skills proficiency. Heartsaver CPR / AED
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult. This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED Course Completion E-Card that is valid for two years.

Hearsaver First Aid w/ CPR & AED
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Heartsaver® First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Upon completion of this course, students receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid Course Completion E-Card that is valid for two years. During the course, an AHA Instructor conducts video-based lessons and works with students to complete their first aid skills practice and testing.

Online Heartcode
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Resuscitation training can be a time and logistics challenge for healthcare organizations, instructors, and students. HeartCode blended learning from the AHA offers options for high-quality resuscitation training that provide more control of time and resources.
HeartCode courses combine online learning with hands-on CPR skills practice to ensure competency. Students complete the online portion of the course at their own pace, anytime and anywhere they have Internet access. Students then attend a hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor or voice-assisted manikin (VAM), where available, to ensure CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) skills competence.
HeartCode’s lifelike animations and eSimulations allow students to treat patients virtually and receive immediate feedback. HeartCode’s online learning format improves retention and helps students develop critical thinking skills they can use at the patient’s bedside.
HeartCode BLS, ACLS, and PALS Courses provide healthcare organizations with a flexible and efficient method for training large numbers of students across different care settings and varied locations. Most importantly, HeartCode delivers high-quality training that prepares students for real resuscitation events and increases their confidence for responding in the most stressful emergency situations.
Students may purchase online Heartcode courses through the AHA Heartcode classes. Once the AHA Heartcode course is completed students must schedule a 1-2 hour skills course with STAT ACLS to conduct their skills portion and receive their E-Card. Students must pay AHA to access and complete the course and must pay the listed price below to receive their E-Cards.

Infection control is an essential component of any health care delivery. Infection control measures can be as simple as hand washing and as sophisticated as high-level disinfection of surgical instruments. Implementing these measures can prevent transmission of disease in health care settings and the community. Infection control is a key concept in achieving the New York State Department of Health mission to protect and promote the health of New Yorkers through prevention, science and the assurance of quality health care delivery.
